Safe Harbor Update Celebrates Pier Pals' First Week
Source: Steam Community
It's been one week since Pier Pals launched, and the team is celebrating with the Safe Harbor update. This patch focuses on polish, quality-of-life improvements, and a few new features to enjoy.
Aquarium Enhancements
- The Aquarium now has its own tab on the profile card, making it easier to show off your collection.
- You can now name your fish! Click any fish, hit the pencil icon, and your Bluegill becomes Bailey. Visitors will see the name too.
UI and Readability
- Text on cream panels (journal rarity headers, bag info, grade letters) now has better contrast and outlines.
- Profile titles display their tier color and are fully localized.
- Fixed rendering glitches at higher frame rates.
- The window border now only appears when moving near the edge of the screen.
Titles and Fixes
- Title rarity now matches their actual difficulty, and new titles have been added, including some for fishing with friends.
- Fixed chat and nameplate issues with accented, symbolic, or CJK characters.
- Upgrading your bag now immediately reflects the FP change in the open panel.
Save Improvements
The save process has been hardened to prevent data loss from rare edge cases like power failures. If any loss does occur, it should be limited to a few minutes at most. New diagnostics have been added, and you can disable them in Settings if you prefer. A new Report a Problem / Feedback card in Settings lets you send issues directly to the team.
This is likely the last daily patch for now. The team plans to step back and observe how the game plays over longer sessions before making bigger changes. But they're still listening, so keep the feedback coming!
